Irya gasped as her eyes shot open and her body lunged forward unrestrained, tears streaming down her face. It took her a few moments to remember where she was, staring into the space of the ceiling fan above her. The feeling of loss and anguish were lingering in the pit of her stomach, threatening their way to the back of her throat. Her mind was still trapped somewhere between asleep and awake, and it left her searching for answers she didn’t know the questions for.
The Lies of The Traitor
Late that same evening Irya was sitting on her balcony when Arrant suddenly appeared at her side. She didn’t fight it, she just laid her head on his shoulder as he wrapped an arm around her giving a deep sigh. Together they sat in silence, watching the trees move in the slight breeze, Irya finally understanding his past actions as pieces started to fit together in her mind.
